Bulletin 12: COVID-19 Lateral Flow Testing (FAST Testing)

Dear Member,

It’s looking good for our reopening on 12th April. 😊
Social Distancing, hand hygiene, masks remain essential. Additionally, we now have “Lateral Flow Testing” also known as FAST Testing to help us keep safe. Please Note – You can only have a FAST Test if you are “asymptomatic”, which means that you are NOT experiencing any of the Covid related symptoms. From Monday 29th March, my old surgery, York House Surgery (YHS), number 19 York Street, will be open for testing as follows:

Monday 29th to Thursday 1st April

8.00am to 19.00pm

Friday 1st April to Monday 5th April

9.00am to 13.00pm

Tuesday 6th April to Friday 9th April

9.00am to 17.00pm

Saturday 10th April to Sunday

11th April 9.00am to 13.00pm[/box]

Normal weeks will then be as follows:

10.00am to 18.00pm

Tuesdays to Fridays

9.00am to 17.00pm

9.00am to 13.00pm[/box]

All Members who plan to attend the RR, and all the Support Team, are asked to have a test at least once in any week you plan to attend the RR. Even if you don’t plan to attend it still makes sense to have one done.

No appointment is needed. Simply turn up and join the queue. If you have a mobile phone you can register for a test yourself, but there are people there to help and guide you through the process. You then tickle the back of your throat with a swab on a stick, leave this at the test centre, plus your mobile phone number. You will then receive an automated text with your test result in approximately 1 hour, which will give you further Government guidance to follow in the event of a Positive result. If you have no mobile with you give the RR telephone number which is:
07746 951 419

So, get it done before you come to the RR. It’s better for you, better for your family and friends, and better for everyone at the RR plus all others with whom you come into socially distanced contact.
If you have any questions about this testing simply ask any member of your Support Team.
